Charlton Explorers
Charlton Police Explorers are an opportunity for males and females
between the ages 14 and 21 to experience different aspects of the
law enforcement. Trips to the courthouse, firearms instruction,
first aid, traffic control, searches, K-9, aquatic enforcement,
equestrian patrols, aviation enforcement, and defensive tactics
are some of the areas that we have explored.
Many Explorers are seeking careers in law enforcement at various
levels. We have provided the opportunity for Explorers to meet with
and discuss the aspects of their jobs with personnel from District
Attorny's Office, The Department of Youth Services, Massachusetts
State Police, Bomb Squads, Massachusetts Environmental Police, State
Police Airwing, and local police agencies.
Explorers also have the opportunity to put their training to use.
We are often called upon to assist other organizations with crowd
and traffic control at public events throughout the state.
Exploring allows its members to experience a variety of social
events. From camping on the Cape, and trips to Boston, to sponsoring
dances at the local schools; the post provides an outlet for it's
members to have fun and help the community.
The Charlton Police Law Enforcement Explorer Post is open to males
and females between the ages of 14 and 21.
We meet at the Charlton Police Department on Sunday evenings from
5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. We have open enrollment year round and registration
is only $40.00 per year.
